Emergency Supply Kit

An emergency supply kit is simply a collection of basic items you may need in the event of an emergency. Try to assemble your kit well in advance of an emergency, you may not have time to shop for the items you need. The emergency supply kit can be used to shelter-in-place or in a vehicle during an evacuation. To get a free CCU Emergency Supply Kit bag contact the Emergency Management Department at emergency@coastal.edu or 843-349-5088. According to FEMA at ready.gov, you need to be ready to be on your own for at least 72 hours.

Basic services such as electricity, gas, water, sewage treatment and telephones may be cut off for days or even a week, or longer. Your emergency supply kit should contain items to help you manage during these days. Below is a basic list of recommended supplies.
