To provide innovative opportunities for personal and professional development while building relationships and community.

Values:

  1. Collaboration and Teamwork (Community and Partnerships): We value working towards a common goal, combining diverse skills and expertise to achieve shared objectives. Collaboration and teamwork foster a sense of community and partnerships essential for personal and professional growth.

  2. Confidentiality (Includes Trust, Privacy, Integrity, and Openness): We value respecting privacy, safeguarding sensitive information, and being honest and open in communication. Trust and integrity are essential for building strong relationships and fostering a secure and supportive environment. Confidentiality is critical in maintaining the trust of those we serve.

  3. Strength-Based Approach (Focusing on What is Right, Not What is Wrong): We recognize and leverage individuals’ and groups’ positive attributes, skills, and potential. This approach fosters personal and professional growth and empowerment by emphasizing strengths rather than weaknesses. It encourages individuals to focus on what they can do rather than what they cannot do and to build on their strengths to overcome challenges.

  4. Kindness (Positivity and Sense of Humor): We value treating others with empathy, respect, and a positive attitude. It encourages creating a supportive and nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and appreciated. Kindness includes a sense of humor that can help create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere, essential for personal and professional growth.

  5. Evidence-Based Practice (Research-Based Practice): We value research, data, and proven methods to inform decision making and guide actions. Evidence based practice ensures that practices are grounded and reliable evidence. It encourages individuals to use research and data to make informed decisions and continuously improve their practices. We also recognize and value alternate ways of knowing such as Intuition, Experience, Sensemaking.

  6. Belonging (Equity, Feeling Welcome, Coming as Your Authentic Self): This value emphasizes fostering a sense of belonging and connection among individuals, promoting equity and inclusivity. It encourages creating an environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and part of a larger community. Belonging includes feeling welcome and being able to come as your authentic self, which is essential for personal and professional growth.

We believe that these values are essential for creating a learning and development center that enhances CCU's employee experience, focuses on the whole employee and fosters innovative opportunities, and builds relationships and community.
