Community Engagement Opportunities and Resources
For RSM students, volunteering is encouraged as a way to expand their own networks, learn new skills, and give back to the community.
In the RSM 389: Recreation and Sport Leadership course, students are required to choose one special event to participate in. The purpose of the special event experience is to provide students with an experiential and practical opportunity to implement leadership techniques throughout the semester. Each student and their group will be asked to choose an activity to lead. Students will be responsible for planning and implementing such activity for the special event that they choose.
Students will:
1. Participate in the leadership of a recreational activity.
2. Participate in the planning and input concerning the activity.
3. Participate in the evaluation process of both your group activity and another group’s activity.
RSM Faculty and Staff promote participation from each and every one of their students.
