One of Nichols’ poems, “Orca Hunting Song,” was published in a recent edition of CCU’s student art and literary magazine Archarios, and an essay of hers titled “Identity Crafting: Reading the Agency and Art Implicit in Selfies” appeared in Bridges, CCU’s journal of student research.

Margaret “Maggie” Nichols is an English major from Hot Springs, Arkansas. Since transferring to Coastal Carolina University from the University of Arkansas, she has distinguished herself in Coastal Carolina’s upper-level English classes and was selected as the 2015-2016 English Major of the Year by vote of the department’s faculty. One of Nichols’ poems, “Orca Hunting Song,” was published in a recent edition of CCU’s student art and literary magazine Archarios, and an essay of hers titled “Identity Crafting: Reading the Agency and Art Implicit in Selfies” appeared in Bridges, CCU’s journal of student research. She plans to continue her education in graduate school with a focus on composition and rhetoric and hopes to begin those studies in CCU’s Master of Arts in writing program.
