Cwalina attended the 2015 Christopher J. Georges Conference on College Journalism at Harvard University and the National Conference for Undergraduate Research presenting original research.

Rebecca M. Cwalina is a communication major and journalism minor from Drums, Pennsylvania. She served as president of the Order of Omega, a leadership honor society, and vice president of the Coastal Carolina Panhellenic Council. She received the Lawrence B. and Jane P. Clark Endowed Scholarship, Jacie Linthicum Hyatt Endowed Scholarship, and the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts Board of Visitors Annual Scholarship. She has been on the President’s List every semester during her time at Coastal Carolina University. She is a member of Upsilon Eta, the charter of Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Association Honor Society, and Gamma Phi Beta. Cwalina served as an English tutor for Cardinal Scholars, working with children in the community, and was employed as a writer by the Office of University Communication at CCU. She has written University press releases, articles for the faculty/staff newsletter and The Coastal Record, as well as web content for the CCU website. She attended the 2015 Christopher J. Cwalina intends to pursue her master’s degree in communication.
