In the summer of 2015, Dangerfield appeared in a leading role in a production of A Little Night Music at the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice in Phoenicia, New York. Opera performances include appearing as a member of the ensemble in Tosca and in the role of Sarah Good in The Crucible at the Rimrock Opera.

Shelby Dangerfield is a musical theatre major. As a freshman, she became a Jackson Scholar through the Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values at Coastal Carolina University. She participated in the Ethics and Leadership Academy in 2013 and 2014 and in the Women’s Leadership Conference in 2014 and 2015. She participated in an ethical theory and leadership-based internship, shadowing Debbie Connor in the Office of the Vice President at Coastal Carolina. She is a member of the Phi Sigma Tau Honor Society for Philosophy. In the summer of 2015, she appeared in a leading role in a production of A Little Night Music at the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice in Phoenicia, New York. Opera performances include appearing as a member of the ensemble in Tosca and in the role of Sarah Good in The Crucible at the Rimrock Opera. Dangerfield has played leading roles in plays and musicals at CCU, appearing as Val in A Chorus Line, Rapunzel in Into the Woods, Jane Bennet in Pride and Prejudice, Johanna in Sweeney Todd and Amalia in She Loves Me. In 2014, Dangerfield was awarded a scholarship from the Grand Strand Opera as Outstanding Student Singer of the Year and was honored with a scholarship for Overall Talent at the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Pageant. She was crowned Miss Loris in 2015 and Miss CCU in 2016.
