Makeup tests

The Academic Testing Center offers the administration of makeup tests on an individual basis for students who are unable to test in the classroom because of an excused absence.  Please refer to CCU’s class attendance policy, ACAD-SENA 129, for more information on excused absences.

Due to the high volume and broad spectrum of testing offered by the ATC to both the University and the local communities, this service is based on availability. Advance paperwork is required.

Information for students:

Your instructor initiates the makeup test process.  Once we receive the test and instructions from your instructor, we will send you an email with instructions for taking your makeup test.

You will have two options for taking your test:

  • You can make an appointment, OR
  • You may test during walk-in hours.  Click here for more info on our walk-in testing.

If you have questions, please see our Frequently Asked Questions.

Information for instructors:

***ATTENTION COURSE INSTRUCTORS: Technical issues (lockdown, webcam, microphone, etc.) and instructor/student preference to test in the ATC are not considered excused absences.

Instructors must submit a completed Makeup Test Request Form to at least 24 hours in advance of the test deadline, along with all test materials (test, instructions, charts, formulas, etc.).

The delivery or return of the Makeup Test Request Form and/or test by the student is not permitted; all forms and tests must be submitted by the faculty member or their administrative assistant.

We recommend that instructors allow a minimum of 3-5 days for the tests to be completed by the students.  This is especially true at the end of the semester when the ATC experiences higher than average testing volume.

If you have questions, please see our Frequently Asked Questions.
