Makeup tests

The Academic Testing Center offers the administration of makeup tests on an individual basis for students who are unable to test in the classroom because of an excused absence. Due to the high volume and broad spectrum of testing offered by the ATC to both the University and the local communities, this service is based on availability. Advance paperwork is required.

Information for instructors

Instructors must submit a completed Makeup Test Request Form to at least 24 hours in advance of the test deadline, along with all test materials (test, instructions, charts, formulas, etc.).

The delivery or return of the Makeup Test Request Form and/or test by the student is not permitted; all forms and tests must be submitted by the faculty member or their administrative assistant.

We recommend that instructors allow a minimum 3-5 day window for the test to be completed by the student.  This is especially true at the end of the semester when the ATC experiences higher than average testing volume.

Information for students

You will receive an email from the ATC with makeup test information once the request has been received and processed.  You will have two options for taking your test:

  • You may test during walk-in hours, OR
  • You can make an appointment.

Walk-in Testing

This service is based on availability; we will do our best to test you, but you may have to wait and we cannot guarantee a seat for all testers.

Walk-in testing hours begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday thru Friday.

All tests must be completed by 4:30 p.m.

Tests will not be administered if your arrival time does not allow for your full testing time.
***For example, if you are allowed 2 hours for a test, you must start testing by 2:30 p.m.
