Robin Edwards-Russell Theatre Endowed Scholarship

Robin Edwards Russell March 2022 (Added 3/15/2022) MCDIn 2018, the Robin Edwards Russell Scholarship was named to honor our esteemed Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts faculty member, Robin Edwards Russell. Robin, a proud Myrtle Beach native, received her undergraduate degree in theatre from Coastal Carolina University. She returned in 1997 and joined the Theatre Department Faculty in order to teach and share her love for the theatre arts. Robin also hosted Coastal Today, a university produced television program that showcased students, faculty, and alumni, for over twenty years. Robin has always been a tireless advocate for her students, colleagues, and her beloved community. She is a theatre education innovator and has served as director of approximately forty different mainstage, Second Stage, and student-led productions. Her strong personal connection to Coastal Carolina University makes her especially proud to have the annual Robin Edwards Russell Theatre Scholarship available to any undergraduate student majoring in Theatre. Robin has dedicated her career to the growth and development of future theatre artists. She and the Department of Theatre invites all theatre students to seek out their creative potential and apply!
