Biography

Alisha Knight began working for CCU in August 2023.  She completed her Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts, Associate of Science degree in Medical Assisting, and her Bachelor of Social Work at Mountain State University in Beckley, W. Va. She received her Master of Social Work degree from West Virginia University in 2011. As a licensed master social worker, she had the privilege of working with diverse populations in both public and private agencies. Throughout her career, she worked with children in foster care and youth services before transitioning into clinical work as a mental health therapist.

Knight is passionate about helping and advocating for the needs of others. After moving to the Myrtle Beach area in 2019, she continued this career path as she went to work for a state agency providing mental health therapy services for adults and couples.  Knight is ecstatic to become a part of  Teal Nation and looks forward to empowering students as they work toward their academic goals.

Her advice to students would be “Enjoy this experience and learn all you can. Join the clubs, make friends, participate in activities, and take advantage of the many opportunities you have. Also, be sure to make time for your own self-care and reach out to someone if you’re struggling.”
