Facilities Planning and Management has partnered with SchoolDude.com, an online maintenance work order management system to ensure quality service to our clients. The SchoolDude management system automates communication between the requestor and Facilities Planning and Management departments to enable our clients to submit, track and check the status of their maintenance requests.
It is our goal to increase productivity, maximize efficiency and improve our service to the campus community. Please submit your request at www.myschoolbuilding.com.
Mechanical Maintenance
Mechanical Maintenance is responsible for delivering the following services to the campus community:
- Heating and Cooling
- Electrical Maintenance
- Plumbing Maintenance
- Elevator Maintenance
Heating and Cooling
The HVAC department maintains and services the equipment controlling the comfort levels and air quality of the campus buildings. HVAC technicians monitor and perform repairs to the heating and cooling systems and maintain operation standards of this equipment.
Plumbing Maintenance
Plumbing technicians maintain the general plumbing systems on campus according to plumbing codes and regulations. General plumbing duties involve repairing and installing pumps, safety valves, hot water tanks, waterlines, plumbing fixtures, and various specialized kitchen and laboratory equipment.
Electrical Maintenance
The electricians are responsible for installing and maintaining lighting systems, electrical equipment, clock systems, motors, ventilation fans, special equipment and various types of high and low voltage, switch gear and control circuits. They maintain general repairs to elevators and check all electrical systems for compliance with codes.
Electricians also stand by at special events such as athletic events and commencement to assure that any corrections or malfunctions in electrical equipment are repaired quickly and efficiently.
Services related to the continuous operation of the overall facilities are provided without charge. Any additional services for which Facilities is not budgeted, must be funded by the requesting department. Routine maintenance requests should be submitted by the administrative assistant within your department.
Equipment Maintenance
The Equipment Maintenance Service department provides preventative maintenance and repairs on all state fleet vehicles, golf carts and small equipment for the campus community.

Facilities Supply
The facilities supply warehouse provides the university with daily stock items needed for buildings. They also research and purchase any specialty items that are submitted to them through the work order system for equipment maintenance, mechanical maintenance, sign & paint shop, custodial, grounds, and any academic and administrative areas on campus.
