Asian Studies

Effectively engage with complex issues that cross political and cultural boundaries by building an interdisciplinary perspective that is not dependent on predominantly American or Eurocentric worldviews.

The Asian Studies Minor is designed to augment your major field of study by equipping you with a wider perspective in Asian humanities, engaging you in explicit inter-Asian and Asian/non-Asian dialogues, and helping you acquire cross-cultural literacy. With courses in language, history, literature, art history, anthropology, geography, and politics, it aims to improve your competitiveness when pursuing advanced degrees or careers related to one or more Asian countries.
