Mathematics Learning Center

The Mathematics Learning Center provides free support for a variety of courses offered at Coastal, including, but not limited to, college algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and differential calculus. The staff works to assist students in a relaxed non-threatening environment. Goals of any student/staff interaction in the center include an understanding of key concepts and a concise explanation of material.

Spring 2021:

Online appointments available beginning Thursday, January 21st.

While classes are redirected to the online environment due to the coronavirus situation, online tutoring is available through the Mathematics Learning Center. During online tutoring sessions, students will have an opportunity to work with a representative from the Mathematics Learning Center for up to 50 minutes to discuss and ask questions about their current math course just as they would in face-to-face tutoring sessions.

The Mathematics Learning Center is offering online tutoring in the following: Math 130A and 130B (College Algebra), Math 131 (Trigonometry), Math 132 (Business Calculus),  Math 160 (Calculus I), Math 135 (Pre-Calculus), Math 133 (Calculus for Social Science), and Statistics 201.

Please note that students who schedule and then fail to attend multiple tutoring sessions during a semester may lose their privilege to make appointments and may be required to meet with the Writing Center/Math Learning Center Coordinator to discuss the situation in order to have their privileges reinstated.
