CCU’s ‘Haunted Homecoming’ gets underway this weekend

October 26, 2018
Homecoming week at CCU coincides with Halloween this year, and many of the events have a Halloween theme leading up to the football game versus Appalachian State on Nov. 3.

Coastal Carolina University's Haunted Homecoming events get started this weekend and continue through the following weekend, culminating in the football game at 5 p.m. Nov. 3 against Sun Belt foe Appalachian State. This year's theme, "Haunted Homecoming," was chosen by students and staff because Halloween falls right in the middle of Homecoming Week. Many of the events taking place throughout the week are open to the public.

A Fall Festival and Zombie Run will start at the CCU teal track at 4:30 p.m. Both events are open to the public; the festival is free to attend and includes activities such as slime-making, bag decorating, scarecrow building, trick or treating and more. The festival ends at 6:30 p.m., at the beginning of the run. There is a $10 registration fee for the Zombie Run if individuals sign up in advance; day-of registration is $15. The run will be across campus. This event is in partnership with the Department of Recreation and Sport Management and will raise funds for SOS Healthcare, a local nonprofit organization that supports individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities.
