Daniel Hucks - Co-Chair

Daniel Hucks imageI am a Business Analyst in Financial Services at Coastal Carolina University. In this role, I work with multiple departments across campus to evaluate and plan solutions for financial transactions. More recently, I have been helping departments set up online stores to sell products and services.

Before this role, I held numerous positions at CCU. From 2006 to 2013, I worked as a Production Assistant in Media Services. Then, until 2016, I worked as a Functional Administrator in Event and Scheduling services. From 2016 to 2020, I was the Associate Registrar for Technology in the Registrar's Office. From 2020-2022, I was the Senior Student Accounts Communication Specialist in the Office of Student Accounts.

I believe that CCU is an important academic institution for the local community and the entirety of South Carolina. It offers a unique student experience at an affordable level. We should continue to focus on new programs to help expand our students’ future potential.

I also think that service is an essential component of personal success. Through serving as a Staff Senator and as the co-chair of the Policy and Welfare Committee, I have appreciated meeting unique individuals and providing them an outlet to share concerns and frustrations.

I am from Aynor, South Carolina. I received a BS in Business Administration, MBA, and an MS in Information Systems and Technology from CCU, and my wife is a CCU alumna. We have three young children—twin boys and a girl.

Connie Glidden - Co-Chair

I have worked at Coastal Carolina University since 2018 (this time around) and have twenty years of experience in higher education. I originally joined CCU in February 2001 in the Continuing Studies Department and later accepted a position with the Alumni Office during the inaugural 2003 football season. That first season felt a bit magical and brought unity to campus that was welcomed by most. I left in 2004 to pursue a master’s degree and later returned to the Grand Strand as a full-time faculty member at HGTC teaching communication courses.

I am currently an Assistant Director in the Office of Professional Development where I primarily work with staff development as a certified CliftonStrengths Coach. I received my BS in Speech Communication with a concentration in public relations, and a MS in Corporate and Professional Communication from Radford University in Radford, VA.

I am originally from Manning, South Carolina, and grew up on Lake Marion. I love being a native South Carolinian and truly enjoy all that SC has to offer. My husband Frank and I have an active life that includes traveling, spending time with family, and enjoying outdoor water sports activities such as waterskiing and paddle boarding.
