Prestige Scholar Initiatives

Coastal Carolina University encourages student, faculty and staff participation in international prestige scholar programs.

  • Multiple current and retired CCU faculty and staff members have been Fulbright scholars.
  • 2 CCU students have been recently awarded Fulbright Grants.
  • 14 CCU students have applied for Rotary Global Grants through our mentoring program, with one completing her award at the London School of Economics and another at the University of Manchester.
  • 4 students have been awarded Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarships.
  • 2 students have been awarded Critical Language Scholarships.
  • 2 students have been awarded Boren Scholarships.

To make international study, research, internship, and teaching opportunities more accessible to all CCU community members, we have initiated mentoring programs to support a number of prestige scholar programs. Please review the links that follow for more detail on these scholarship programs and learn how YOU can take advantage of the mentoring programs available.

My Fulbright experience in Slovakia (1989-1991) helped me understand economic and political upheaval firsthand as I lived there through the Velvet Revolution. It opened new opportunities and built a network that has been very helpful to my professional goals. I want to see many more talented CCU students, alumni, and faculty receive these prestigious awards.  Darla Domke-Damonte, Associate Provost for Global Initiatives
