Recreation and Sport Management Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of the gift is to support a scholarship within the Recreation and Sport Management Program at the University. 

Students MUST meet the following criteria to be chosen as a recipient: 
          1. Be a continuing or transfer student.
          2. Be a Recreation and Sport Management Major.
          3. Have completed 60 semester hours at the time of application.
          4. Have a GPA of 3.25 or higher
                    a. Continuing – CCU GPA of 3.25 or higher.
                    b. Transfer – Collegiate GPA of 3.25 or higher.
          5. Be a current member of the Recreation & Sport Management Alliance (RSMA).

Preference will be given to students who meet the following additional requirements:
          1. Submit an updated resume that highlights the following:
                    a. Academic record
                    b. Work experience in the field of Recreation and Sport Management
                    c. Community involvement
          2. Submit 3 letters of recommendation (none of these can be from an RSM professor).
          3. Submit an essay describing how this scholarship will benefit their progression towards a career in                  the Recreation and Sport Management field.

Applications for this scholarship are to be submitted to Club Advisors no later than February 21 of the spring semester preceding the awarding of the scholarship. 

It is the desire of the Donor to award one or more scholarship(s) each academic year.

This scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable for any recipient.

The recipient will be chosen by the full-time faculty of the RSM program based on the submitted materials described above.  The aim of the RSM faculty is to award an outstanding student and community leader with great potential in the field of Recreation and Sport Management.

Once selected, recipient(s) names will be sent to Financial Aid & Scholarships for confirmation of eligibility and awarding.


Recreation and Sport Management Annual Scholarship 

The purpose of this scholarship is to support the Department of Recreation and Sport Management Scholarship recipients must meet the following criteria:
          1. Be a continuing or transfer student
          2. Be a Recreation and Sport Management Major
          3. Have completed 60 semester hours at the time of application
          4. Have a GPA of 3.25 or higher
                    a. Continuing - CCU GPA of 3.25 or higher
                    b. Transfer - Collegiate GPA of 3.25 or higher
          5. Additional Requirements
                    a. Must submit 3 letters of recommendation (none of these can be from an RSM professor)
                    b. Submit an essay describing how this scholarship will benefit their progression towards a                                  career in the Recreation and Sport Management field

The recipient will be chosen by the full-time faculty of the RSM program based on the submitted materials described above.

It is the desire of the Donor to award one scholarship in the amount of $1,000 each academic year.
