2024 Freshman Orientation

All new students starting in Fall 2024 are required to complete their Orientation experience consisting of an in person experience as well as online modules. All incoming freshman students must complete both the in-person orientation experience and our online orientation modules.

If you meet any of the 4 criteria below - you only will need to complete our online modules. Please contact our office if you have questions.

  • Online Degree Programs (Click here to see a list of online programs)
  • International Students
  • Admitted for Spring II, Fall II, Maymester, Summer I, Summer II
  • Registering for orientation after all in-person sessions have been completed

All other new Fall admits (separate from the 4 above) must complete the three (3) component experience which includes: Online Orientation Modules, In-Person Orientation, and Teal Nation Welcome. See the descriptions below.

In-Person Orientation

  • All students who are in an in-person degree program (taking classes physically on campus) are required to register for and attend an in-person, two-day orientation program on the CCU campus. During Orientation, students will meet with representatives from various offices and academic departments, meet with advisors, and connect with other incoming students.

Coastal Carolina University does not offer a virtual orientation session for Summer 2024.

Online Orientation Modules

  • These self-paced modules will allow you to learn about the academic programs and student life services at CCU. It will take you approximately one hour to complete the modules, and you do have the option to stop and restart as needed. In order to access the online orientation modules, make sure you have your CCU login credentials. You will have access to the program within 1 hour of registering for your orientation.

Teal Nation Welcome

  • Teal Nation Welcome is CCU's official welcome back to campus program open to all students that begins with move-in and continues through the first week of classes. It's goal is to help students get connected to people on campus and make CCU feel like home.
  • There some mandatory programming for first year students including New Student Convocation and Chant Life. You will receive more information closer to August.

We are experiencing some issues with confirmation emails not being sent out once you submit your registration. We are working on this issue with our IT department and will send those out to folks as soon as we can. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

All sessions have a limited number of seats available and will close once a session is full.

Orientation will begin at 7:15am with Check-in on Day 1 of your session. We ask that you arrive to CCU by 7am. Check-in will take place at the CCU Belltower on campus next to the Lib Jackson Student Union. If you are traveling by plane, we suggest arriving to the Conway/Myrtle Beach area the night before your session. Day 2 will end by 2pm so please book travel after 4pm to give yourself enough time to get on the road.

Please do not make any travel arrangements unless you have registered for Orientation and received a confirmation email. The Office of Orientation, Transition, & Family Programs is not responsible for any financial consequences incurred by booking travel prior to orientation registration confirmation.
