Associated Faculty for Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Education

Erica Ford, M.A., CADDCT

Erica Ford is an experienced professional in the field of health and life coaching/counseling. Erica graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2015 with a B.S. in Exercise Science. Next, she obtained her M.A. in Counseling from Liberty University with a minor in health and life coaching.

She also attended Duke Integrative Medicine where she studied chronic and acute disease management health coaching. She is a certified health coach through Duke Integrative Medicine and a Certified Wellness Practitioner through the National Wellness Institute. Erica is a Certified Alzheimer's and Dementia Care instructor for the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. Her passion for Alzheimer’s and Dementia care comes from her love for her grandfather who battled Dementia. Erica loves to provide an interactive hands-on curriculum and education for healthcare staff members, caregivers, family members, and patients.

Erica is the founder and owner of 320 Wellness LLC, a wellness corporation where she provides counseling services, health coaching, sports psychology, leadership development, and corporate wellness consulting.

Robert J. Coni, D.O., Ed.S., FAAN

Dr. Robert Coni

Dr. Robert Coni is a practicing neurologist and serves as an Associated Faculty member with the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies. Prior to CCU, he was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine in Hershey, Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, and DeSales University in Center Valley, PA in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

Dr. Coni held multiple administrative roles while at St. Luke's University Hospital and Health Network. These included Network Section Chief of Neurology, Medical Director of the Acute Rehabilitation Center, and Network Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services. At St. Luke - Temple University School of Medicine, he was co-leader of the clinical neurosciences lecture series for second-year medical students. In the Grand Strand, he has served as the Medical Director of the Stroke Program at Grand Strand Medical Center and Subspeciality Education Coordinator for Neurology in the residency programs at that institution.  

Dr. Coni received his D.O. from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Westbury, New York. He completed his internship at Peninsula Hospital Center in Far Rockaway, New York, and his residency at Albany Medical College Hospital in Albany, New York. He is board-certified in neurology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN), the highest and most respected class of membership awarded to selected board-certified neurologists and research neuroscientists who have demonstrated high achievements in teaching, clinical practice, administration, and/or research.

For over 30 years, Dr. Coni has served as a neurologist while also teaching residents and medical students the skills needed to care for patients with neurologic disorders. As part of his passion for lifelong learning, he earned his Ed.S. from Coastal Carolina University in 2016 in an effort to be as effective as possible as a teacher and medical education administrator. Since then, he has been busy developing e-learning continuing education programs in neurology for medical students, physicians, and advanced practice professionals.
