Darcy Barr

After graduating from Coastal Carolina University‌in 2015 with a B.S. in Biology, Darcy was accepted into Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Spartanburg, SC. Currently a second year medical student, she will graduate with the Class of 2020 with a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) and hopes to practice either General Surgery or Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is an active member of the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA), Student National Medical Association (SNMA), Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA) and currently serves on the VCOM-Honor Code Council and as a VCOM-Admissions Ambassador. This summer, she worked as a mentor for the Summer Educational Enrichment (SEE) Program, a weeklong camp designed to encourage teenagers from the Spartanburg Community to pursue future careers in science and medicine. In her spare time she volunteers at St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic, spends time with her family, and plays softball.
