  • The collection and preservation of oral history by veterans of the American Armed Forces in a partnership with the Military History Project at the U.S. Library of Congress, including the production of Military Memoirs a half-hour television program, which airs daily on cable television within the South Carolina Grand Strand region;
  • To support and encourage scholarly activities, research, preservation, and events related to American military science and American veteran studies, including a speaker’s bureau featuring the topic, “Lessons in Leadership from the Greatest Generation”;
  • An instruction component that includes conventional classroom lectures and specialized instruction in military science and history, including an annual “staff ride” battlefield tour for senior ROTC cadets from Coastal Carolina University and other institutions.
