W. Stovall Witte Jr., has been the chief executive officer for the Coastal Educational Foundation (CEF) since January 2011. The Coastal Educational Foundation is a not-­for-profit foundation that supports Coastal Carolina University and manages assets, including investments and land. The CEF is also responsible for the University's planned giving program and works closely with the Chanticleer Athletic Foundation and the Coastal Carolina University Research Foundation managing their endowments and accounting services.

Witte has had a diverse career including over 24 years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army; six years in senior staff positions in the U.S. House of Representatives, including chief of staff to the congressman of the First District of South Carolina; and almost seven years as vice president for advancement and marketing at Charleston Southern University. 

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The Citadel and a Master of Science and a Master in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology. Witte is also a graduate of the Defense System Management College, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Infantry Officer Advanced Course and is Airborne/Ranger qualified.

Witte's civic and philanthropic affiliations include: served or is serving on the board of directors for the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, Coastal Carolina Boy Scouts of America, Campus Outreach, Palmetto Family and the Jackson Center for Ethics and Value. 

Witte and his wife, Jan, have three grown children.
