Wireless Access

Providing access to the wireless network and to the internet across campus has been a key initiative for Coastal Carolina University as demonstrated by the installation of more than 2,500 access points across campus in residence halls, academic areas and in outdoor locations. The expansion of wireless technology continues in additional outdoor areas and in University Place. As the expansion continues, please be mindful that there may be some areas where the wireless network may not yet be available or access is interrupted while moving around campus. Prioritization of traffic accommodates the requirements of different applications and load balancing. In most cases, wireless is meant to supplement the wired network, which is always the faster and more stable connection.

A device should be able to "see" CCUnwired as one of the University's wireless options and connect instantly. If your device does not recognize the network, try moving to a location where the signal may be stronger. If you need additional support, please contact the ITS Service Center at 843-349-5000.

SafeConnect is required for authentication on CCUnwired. Learn more »

Wireless Access for Campus Visitors

The CCUguest wireless network is provided for and should only be used by University-sponsored visitors. CCUguest has limited bandwidth and internet access; therefore, CCU students, faculty and staff should use the restricted access Wi-Fi networks CCUnwired or CCUResNet. CCUguest should not be used in place of the restricted access Wi-Fi networks. For additional information, please contact the ITS Service Center at 843-349-5000.
